Cumiana Skydiving Accident of 26 September 2026
On 26 September 2026, at around 1 p.m., a 43-year-old man fell from a height of several metres while making a parachute jump at the Cumiana airfield, in strada Galassia 11, in the Turin area. The man died shortly after arriving at the CTO hospital in Turin, where he had been taken in serious condition [1][2][3].
The sequence of events
Bystanders at the scene called the single emergency number 112. A nurse from the Assessment Unit of Turin's 118 Operations Centre gave instructions by phone for starting cardiac massage while awaiting the rescue team [1][3].
The rescue operation
A few minutes after the call, an ambulance and the helicopter of the Regional Air Rescue Service arrived on the scene. Medical staff continued resuscitation efforts even during the helicopter transfer to the CTO hospital in Turin [1][2][3]. Despite these efforts, the man died shortly after arriving at the hospital [2][3]. According to reports, an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway [3].
