Confindustria Cuneo
Confindustria Cuneo, formerly the Unione Industriale di Cuneo (Industrial Union of Cuneo), is the association of industrialists in the Province of Cuneo. The association is led by president Mariano Costamagna and director general Giuliana Cirio. Its headquarters has a hall named after Michele Ferrero, used for meetings and initiatives for member companies.[1][2]
Origins and founding companies
Among the founding companies of the then Unione Industriale di Cuneo was Fratelli Groppo of Sommariva del Bosco, a carpentry and furniture firm founded in 1946 by brothers Giuseppe and Antonio Groppo — a tie that Costamagna and Cirio recalled as still active through the Groppo family's involvement in the association, first with Livio leading the Wood section and later with Giuseppe in the Young Entrepreneurs Group.[1][2]
Recent activities
On 4 November 2026, Confindustria Cuneo hosted the event "Il valore nel tempo" ("Value over time") in the Michele Ferrero hall at its headquarters, during which a plaque was presented to Fratelli Groppo marking the company's eightieth year of activity. The event brought together themes of enterprise, design and sustainability, weaving the honoured company's history together with the theme of generational succession in the furniture sector.[1][2]
The event closed with the round table "L'arredo duraturo è sostenibile?" ("Is lasting furniture sustainable?"), moderated by Maicol Negrello of the Department of Architecture and Design at the Politecnico di Torino (Turin Polytechnic), with contributions from content creator Alessandra Barlassina, architects Luisa Bocchietto and Antonio Perrone, and engineer Claudio Groppo.[1][2]
