Barter Week 2026 in Alto Piemonte
Date of the event:
Barter Week 2026 in Alto Piemonte is the local edition of a national initiative that, from 16 to 20 November, allows guests to stay for free in certain bed and breakfasts in exchange for manual, teaching or creative services, or for handing over an object instead of a cash payment. In the Alto Piemonte area, between the provinces of Novara and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, nine accommodation facilities take part [1].
How it works
The initiative is organised through the portal www.bed-and-breakfast.it and coordinated by the dedicated site www.settimanadelbaratto.it, which gathers participating bed and breakfasts across Italy like a shared search engine for accommodation, but instead of prices lists each host's wishes, sorted by region and by type of service or product requested [1]. Some facilities are willing to barter any kind of service or object, while others list specific requests in exchange for the stay. Anyone interested can click the "Contatta e Baratta" ("Contact and Barter") button to put themselves forward to the host and start negotiating; once an agreement is reached, the stay is confirmed with no cash payment at all [1].
The participating facilities
In Alto Piemonte the nine facilities taking part in the 2026 edition are: Antica Locanda, in Montescheno; Alloggi Vigezzo, in Santa Maria Maggiore; La Ciliegia Bianca, in Belgirate; Il Tempo del Sogno, in Baveno; B&B Magic House, in Novara; B&B Al Sasso, in Toceno; B&B Bosco Tenso, in Premosello Chiovenda; B&B Guglielmina, in Quarna Sotto; Relax in Baita tra Lago e Monti, in Cossogno [1].
