From the founding (2006) to the twentieth anniversary of the first Turin tram (2011)

The site atts.to.it, online from February 2006, announced the association's founding on 21 December 2005: a non-profit moral entity with no employees of its own, whose members included GTT, other public and private bodies and tram enthusiasts, based at piazza Gustavo Modena 6.1

In January 2012 the site recalled that the first tram run in Turin dated back to the evening of 29 December 1871, between the Barriera di Nizza (piazza Carducci) and piazza Castello, and announced a commemorative trip for 29 December 2011.2

That same year the association published the newsletter «Tranvai 2011», carried forward the educational project «In classe sul tram storico» (In class aboard the historic tram), received as a gift from a German group of enthusiasts a 1956 motor car and trailer from Munich, and organised a photo contest for the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification.2

A page from 2 January 2012 recalled that on the evening of 29 December 1871 a tram carriage had for the first time linked the Barriera di Nizza (piazza Carducci) to piazza Castello, launching Turin's tram network; for the 140th anniversary ATTS organised a commemorative trip on 29 December 2011 along the same route. The same page recounted the arrival in Italy of a former Munich tram set from 1956 (type «M 4.65»), donated to the association by the German group Strassenbahnfreunde, and a photo contest tied to the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification and the launch of historic line 7.2
