Appointment of Paolo Bertolino as general manager of Fondazione CRC

On 26 October 2026 the board of directors of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo (Fondazione CRC) unanimously chose Paolo Bertolino as the foundation's new general manager. Bertolino succeeds Roberto Giordana, who retired on 1 April 2026 after holding several senior positions since the foundation's creation in 1992. Giordana had bid farewell to colleagues, board members and staff on via Roma on 31 March 2026 [1].
The succession process
On the same day Giordana stepped down, the board of directors launched the search for a successor, entrusted to a specialised firm. In the meantime, the outgoing director's duties were assigned to Donatella Botanica as deputy director [1].
Profile of the new director
Paolo Bertolino, born in Turin and the son of Rinaldo Bertolino, a former rector of the University of Turin, will turn 54 on 11 November 2026. A lawyer, he graduated in Law in 1998. From 2001 to 2009 he was a United Nations official at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (CIF-OIL). Since April 2009 he has served as secretary general of Unioncamere Piemonte, a role that includes heading Unioncamere Piemonte's office in Brussels, dedicated to developing the AlpMed Euroregion [1].
Bertolino is also a member of the Council of Secretaries General of Unioncamere Italiana, vice-president of the board of the Fondazione Cavalieri Ottolenghi, a board member of the European Economic Interest Grouping Eurocin GEIE, a member of the governing council of the Associazione Piemonte Africa, and director of the special inter-chamber company ADR Piemonte. From 2013 to 2016 he was vice-president of the Centro Estero per l'Internazionalizzazione del Piemonte (CEIP Piemonte); since 2017 he has been managing director of Tecnoservice Camere Srl, and since 2014 vice-president of the Piedmont Arbitration Chamber. In his new role he will work alongside the president of Fondazione CRC, Mauro Gola, in coordinating the foundation [1].
