On Sunday 8 November 2026, at 3.30pm, the WiMu – Wine Museum of Barolo (Museo del Vino di Barolo) offers a new edition of the theatrical tour «A Walk with the Marchesa» (A spasso con la Marchesa). A costumed guide plays Juliette Colbert, the Marchesa of Barolo, leading children through the main floor of the Castello Falletti [1][2].

The tour

The story recreates the atmosphere of the 19th century through anecdotes and details of everyday life. It is not a traditional guided tour: the historic rooms become part of the narrative, and children speak directly with the character of the marchesa, in language suited to their age [1][2]. The tour is recommended for children aged 6 to 10 and lasts about 40-45 minutes [1][2].

The «Il WiMu delle famiglie» programme

The initiative is part of the «Il WiMu delle famiglie» (WiMu for families) calendar, a programme that offers activities for children and their companions every second Sunday of the month [1][2]. Liliana Allena, president of the Barolo & Castles Foundation, said the aim is «to offer children a different way to encounter history», turning the castle into «a space to explore with curiosity» [1][2].

The Giocamuseo

The day can continue with the Giocamuseo, an interactive kit designed by François Confino that guides children through the exhibition route with quizzes, clues and narrative games. The museum route also includes a panoramic terrace overlooking the Unesco World Heritage wine-growing landscape [1][2].
