2026 European Majorette Championships
Date of the event:
The 2026 European Majorette Championships (European Majorette Championship IBTF) were held at the Pala Gianni Asti in Turin between 28 October and 1 November 2026. The event closed with the award ceremony on 1 November, at the end of a competition involving 1,095 athletes from 13 European countries.[1]
The event
The programme included a day on 28 October dedicated to musical rehearsals, with official competitions starting on 29 October. Award ceremonies were held on 31 October and 1 November, the closing day of the event.[1] 33 continental titles were at stake, awarded in individual, pair and team categories, with the participation of several age groups, from youth categories up to adults.[1]
The delegations
Athletes from 13 European countries took part in the championships. The largest delegation was Croatia's, followed by the Czech Republic and Italy, which fielded 108 participants.[1] Overall, more than 1,500 people, including athletes, coaches and chaperones, stayed in accommodation in Turin and the metropolitan area.[1]
The venue and the city context
The event was held at the Pala Gianni Asti, described by councillor Carretta during the presentation press conference as one of the city's three most important arenas and one of the iconic venues of sport in Turin.[1] The event followed, as an international sporting fixture hosted at the same venue, the Twirling and Majorette World Championships held the previous year.[1] Among the side events, the Mole Antonelliana was lit up, a traditional tribute by the city to major sporting occasions, and a live stream of the competitions was made available.[1]
