Withdrawal of the one-date-per-call limit at Piedmont's healthcare booking centre (October 2026)
News of
In mid-October 2026, H2H, the company holding the contract to run Piedmont's healthcare Single Booking Centre (Cup), withdrew a previously introduced rule that required operators to offer only one available date or location per phone call.1 Under the old system, if the first offer was not suitable, the caller had to end the call and try again later; under the new procedure, the operator can check other available dates or facilities on screen and offer them immediately, within the same call.1
The change follows objections from the Cgil trade union branches of Turin and Novara, which had criticised the inefficiency of the "single booking" rule and the problems it caused for both users and service workers.1 The change does not directly affect overall waiting times or the number of appointment slots and services provided by the regional health system.1
