Villafranca Piemonte
Villafranca Piemonte is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Turin, in the Pinerolo area.
The town is known for the Sagra dei Pescatori, an event sponsored by the Metropolitan City of Turin and organized by the municipality, the Pro Loco, Villafranca's associations, the local district committees and the town's Civil Protection group.1 The 2026 edition, held from 25 to 29 September, unfolded over five days of festivities with fish-based dinners at the RistoPalatenda set up on via Caduti per la Libertà, along with events spread across the town's central streets, its hamlets (including San Giovanni, with the Marchierù castle) and the town's sports facilities.2 During the opening ceremony, in the area in front of the former monastery, honorary citizenship was conferred on the Italian Army, with a performance by the band of the Taurinense Alpine Brigade; the mayor of Villafranca Piemonte is Agostino Bottano.3
