Trial Over Gang Rape During Bra Calcio's Promotion Party

At the end of closing arguments held on 1 October 2026, public prosecutor Davide Greco of the Asti public prosecutor's office requested the conviction of three former Bra Calcio players, accused of group sexual violence against a 20-year-old Turin student: four years in prison for Fausto Perseu, 24, and Alessio Rosa, 23, and three years, six months and twenty days for Christ Jesus Mawete, 21. The verdict will be delivered at the next hearing before judge Victoria Dunn of the Asti court; all three defendants have requested a summary trial.

The events date back to the evening of 30 May 2025 in Bra, a month and a half after the team's celebrations for promotion from Serie D to Serie C. According to the prosecution, the young woman had accepted Perseu's invitation to go back to his apartment, where they would have been joined by Rosa and Mawete; the intervention of a friend of the girl, who threatened to call the carabinieri, is said to have interrupted the episode. Three days later the twenty-year-old filed a complaint, following medical examinations carried out at the Sant'Anna hospital in Turin. Alessio Rosa also faces a charge of revenge porn, for having shared a video of the evening in a group chat of the team; the defendant admitted to sharing the footage, while denying the violence, as did the other two co-defendants. None of the three renewed their contract with the Bra club for the following season.
