Seizure of a crack laboratory in Barriera di Milano

In an apartment in the Barriera di Milano neighbourhood of Turin, the State Police uncover a home laboratory used to prepare and package crack. The operation leads to the arrest of two men, a 61-year-old Senegalese and a 21-year-old Malian, on charges of possessing narcotics for the purpose of dealing [1][2].

The investigation

The operation stems from monitoring the movements of the 61-year-old, suspected by officers of the Barriera di Milano police station of dealing drugs while posing as a taxi driver. Officers observe him double-parking on via Bongiovanni and entering a building, then wait for him to come out to identify him [1][2].

The search

The checks are extended to the apartment the man had just left. Inside, officers find the 21-year-old and a home laboratory used for cooking cocaine and preparing crack. On the kitchen table and in other rooms they seize hard discs, plates, razor blades, cutting agent, two precision scales and packaging material for doses [1][2].

The seized drugs, more than 800 grams of cocaine and crack, are found both as rocks and in doses already prepared for sale. Also recovered are 1,900 euros in cash, believed to be proceeds of the illegal activity. Checks reveal that the 21-year-old was in the country illegally [1][2].

Outcome

At the end of the operation, the two men are arrested and transferred to Turin's Lorusso e Cutugno prison [1][2].
