Robbery at the corso Toscana bus stop

The robbery at the corso Toscana bus stop is an incident that took place in Turin's Lucento district in the days before 4 November 2026, in which a passer-by chased down and restrained the man who had snatched at a woman, allowing the State Police to arrest him for aggravated robbery committed jointly with another person.[1][2]

The robbery

A woman was standing at the bus shelter on corso Toscana with her daughter and a 4-year-old grandchild when a young man snatched at her, trying to tear a gold necklace from her neck and managing to grab only the pendant.[1][2] He then fled toward the Parco della Pellerina, helped by an accomplice riding an electric scooter.[1][2]

The chase and the arrest

A passer-by who had witnessed the incident immediately set off after the two men, managing to catch up with the one who had carried out the snatch and hold him until a patrol car from the Borgo Po State Police station arrived, sent to the scene by the Turin police headquarters' operations room.[1][2] Officers then arrested the seventeen-year-old for aggravated robbery committed jointly with another person.[1][2]

The search

During the subsequent personal search, the young man was found to be carrying the pendant just taken from the woman, as well as two other pieces of jewellery, hidden in a pocket made from a tear in his trousers.[1][2] The seventeen-year-old was taken to Turin's juvenile reception centre (Centro di prima accoglienza), at the disposal of the judicial authorities.[1][2]
