Redevelopment of via Colle Bourget and via Luigi Faure in Sauze d'Oulx
News of

In Sauze d'Oulx, a municipality of the Susa Valley in the Metropolitan City of Turin, the redevelopment works on via Colle Bourget and via Luigi Faure, in the historic centre of the old village, were completed before the start of the winter season. The project covered more than a thousand square metres of paving, for a total investment of €177,154.10, including VAT [1][2].
The project
The works involved rebuilding the granite paving, laying granite setts 8-10 centimetres in size and two parallel central strips of Luserna stone, each 40 centimetres wide. The solution adopted echoes the appearance of the two streets' historic paving [1].
The phases of the works
The project was preceded by works by SMAT, which carried out a complete overhaul of the water supply line and its connections, the separation of foul water from rainwater, and the renewal of the rainwater collection grates, including rebuilding the downpipe connections [1][2].
Once this phase was complete, the municipality proceeded to remove the old paving, prepare the subgrade with a 20-centimetre layer of cement-bound gravel, and then lay the new granite and Luserna stone surface, keeping to the schedule set [1][2].
Context
The work on pedestrian routes joins other projects carried out over time by the municipal administration to look after the public spaces of the old village, such as the redevelopment of piazza Assietta [2].
