Operation «Asmodeo»: arrest for enslavement in a pseudo-spiritual community (October 2026)
Bruno Antonio Malatesta is a yoga teacher who leads a group based in Almese, in the province of Turin, described by the press as a «sect».
In October 2026, Turin's carabinieri, as part of operation «Asmodeo» targeting the group led by Malatesta, invited any other victims of abuse to come forward and file a complaint.
He had himself called «maestro Sivaksatriya Sivananda» and had proclaimed himself «the chosen one», at the head of a residential community in the lower Valsusa, in Almese, linked to the «Fondazione Fiore della Pace». [3]
He is charged with enslavement, aggravated sexual violence, domestic mistreatment and aggravated fraud against the State; the arrest, carried out by the carabinieri of Turin's Investigative Unit, is coordinated by the prosecutor's office led by Giovanni Bombardieri. [4]
