On 14 September 2026, Wizz Air officially opened a new base at Turin-Caselle Airport, permanently stationing a first Airbus A321neo; a second aircraft will arrive on 25 October.1 For the airline, the second-largest in Italy by market share, Turin thus becomes its seventh base in the country.1 The investment expands the network to 23 routes to ten countries, with around 1.3 million seats for sale in 2026: the ten new destinations include Barcelona, Bilbao, Lamezia Terme, Madrid, Malaga, Naples, Rome Fiumicino, Sharm el Sheikh (from 27 October), Suceava and Valencia, while from January 2027 Saturday winter routes to Wrocław, Gdańsk, Katowice and Prague will be added.1 The connection with Rome is strengthened to eleven flights a week; Torino Airport's chief executive Andrea Andorno describes it as a low-cost, point-to-point offering alongside the long-standing connection with the capital.1 According to Wizz Air, the presence of the two aircraft based at Caselle will bring 80 new direct jobs and around 700 indirect ones.1
