The Mus-e project, conceived at European level, arrived in Italy in 1999 and has 13 locations; the Turin branch, launched in the 2001-2002 school year by choice of the City's Education Department for nursery, primary and middle schools in the most socially disadvantaged neighbourhoods, is the largest in Italy. According to the mus-e.torino.it website, the Turin branch involves over 4,700 children from primary and nursery schools across the Piedmontese capital; among its special projects, "Mus-e in Corsia" brings art workshops to children admitted to the Regina Margherita hospital, while "Progetto Coromuse", active since 2015, brings together a choir of almost 500 children from fourth and fifth grade.
