Starting the week of 23 September 2026, the carabinieri in Turin began patrolling the area by bicycle as well, using pedal-assisted e-bikes. The service focuses in particular on public parks, urban green spaces and the city's cycle paths [1][2].
Objectives of the service
According to the Arma, bicycles make it easier to reach areas and routes with limited access for cars. The initiative also aims to increase direct contact between officers and residents, fostering greater visibility and closeness within the community, in keeping with environmental concerns as well [1][2].
Units involved
In Turin, the e-bike service has been entrusted to the carabinieri of the Borgo San Salvario station. The initiative has also been extended to the metropolitan area, with vehicles made available to the stations of Venaria and Pinerolo [1][2].
