Istituto Fermi-Galilei (Ciriè)

The Istituto Fermi-Galilei is a school building located on via San Giovanni Bosco in Ciriè, in the borgo Rossetti area.[1][2]

November 2026 theft

During the night between Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November 2026 around a hundred laptops and tablets were stolen from the school. The thieves got into the building by forcing open a door.[1][2] The theft was discovered by school staff, who reported it to the carabinieri of the town station.[1][2] At the time of the report, the exact quantity and value of the stolen goods had yet to be established, as had whether the alarm system had gone off.[1][2] Traces useful to the investigation were found on site, and the area is covered by borgo Rossetti's surveillance cameras, whose footage is being examined by investigators.[1][2] Investigators found it suspicious that those responsible showed familiarity with the school's interior spaces, suggesting they already knew how to move around inside the building.[1][2]

Investigation and possible links

The carabinieri are assessing whether the theft is the work of the same gang that in previous weeks targeted the Juvarra high school in Altessano, in Venaria Reale, and the primary school in the Tedeschi locality, in Leini. In both cases the thieves had forced open doors to get in and were clearly caught on camera, which in the case of the high school reportedly recorded the entire action.[1][2] Investigators are following several leads, including checking whether the stolen devices are being sold on the black market at reduced prices.[1][2]
