Group Changes in Turin's Circoscrizioni (September 2026)

Between the end of September 2026, four councillors elected to Turin's civic councils changed their council group, affecting the internal balances of several Circoscrizioni ahead of the next local elections.[1]

Circoscrizione 6

On 23 September 2026, councillor Giulia Zaccaro, elected in 2021 on the Torino Bellissima list and later moved to the Lega, joined the new mixed centre-right majority group called "Scienza ambiente e futuro" (Science, Environment and Future). The same group was also joined by councillor Michele Celentano, previously with the "Verso i Moderati" list.[1]

Circoscrizione 3

Councillor Stefano Bolognesi, one of the Fratelli d'Italia representatives on the civic council, announced in a statement that he was joining the minority Mixed Group, declaring his intention to complete his institutional term and then leave politics for good.[1]

Circoscrizione 7

Two changes were recorded in Circoscrizione 7. Councillor Daniele Moiso, a member of the civic council since 2011, moved from the Mixed Group to the Fratelli d'Italia group, thanking his new group and receiving a comment from group leader Patrizia Alessi, who spoke of shared ground on local policy.[1]

At the same council session, the move of councillor Maurizia Stefania Cabbia from the majority Mixed Group to the Partito Democratico group was also formalised, bringing the group's strength on the civic council to ten members. Cabbia explained her decision as a wish to continue her administrative commitment by sharing the party's political path, while group leader Beppe Cammarata spoke of shared ideals and values for the city's future.[1]
