Former Turin Tobacco Factory

The former Tobacco Factory is a disused industrial complex in the Regio Parco district of Turin, the subject of a redevelopment project aiming to transform it into a new cultural hub for the city, reconnecting the district with the network of riverside parks and the Po River.

On 25 August 2026, the tender published by the State Property Agency for the demolition works on part of the buildings closed, with a value exceeding 5 million euros; at the end of September 2026, the tender for the direction of works and safety coordination was also published.

The demolitions will affect buildings not subject to protection by the Superintendency, covering more than 25,000 square meters, and are expected to begin between late November 2026 and January 2027, lasting approximately 16 months in total; the plan calls for the recovery of at least 70% of the non-hazardous waste produced during the works.
