Fatal Parachuting Accident in Cumiana

On 26 September 2026, at around 1 pm, a 43-year-old man fell several metres while parachuting on strada Galassia, in Cumiana, in the Turin area. A companion present at the scene raised the alarm by calling the single emergency number 112 and, following the phone instructions given by a nurse from the Assessment Unit of the Turin 118 Emergency Operations Centre, began performing cardiac massage.
An ambulance and the helicopter of the regional air ambulance service (Servizio regionale di elisoccorso) responded to the scene; medical staff continued resuscitation efforts even during the helicopter transport to the Cto hospital in Turin, where the man died shortly after arrival.
