On 7 October 2026, Federalberghi Piemonte appointed him as its new regional president for the next five years, succeeding Alessandro Comoletti. Borio commented: "Taking on the leadership of Federalberghi Piemonte is an honor, as well as a great responsibility that I take on with conviction and a spirit of service, putting the experience I have gained over the years at its disposal," highlighting the growth phase of tourism in Piedmont and naming among his priorities the strengthening of the hospitality supply chain, the promotion of Piedmont in Italy and abroad, and support for businesses in the sector; he also thanked Alessandro Comoletti for the work carried out during his term.
