During the night between Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October 2026, waste and glass bottles were dumped in Piazza Carlo Emanuele II in Turin, at the foot of the statue of Cavour; Mayor Stefano Lo Russo called the scene "intolerable" and called for a permanent police presence.[1]
