Closing concert of Organalia 2026 in Feletto

On 6 November 2026, at 8:45 pm, the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta in Feletto hosts the concert closing the 2026 edition of the Organalia music festival, sponsored by the Metropolitan City of Turin. The event is organised by the Lions Club Alto Canavese, with the support of the municipality of Feletto and the Diocese of Ivrea, and in collaboration with the Prevostura (provostry) of Feletto [1].

The organ and the venue

The concert showcases the church's organ, built by the Serassi brothers in 1825 and considered among the most significant for performing the band-and-theatre repertoire [1]. The evening opens with an introduction on the history and architecture of the parish church, given by professor Maria Grazia Caresio, followed by a greeting from the president of the Lions Club Alto Canavese, Roberto Uligini [1].

The programme and the organist

The evening's protagonist is Sicilian organist Diego Cannizzaro, titular organist of Cefalù Cathedral and professor of organ at the Vincenzo Bellini Conservatory in Caltanissetta [1]. The programme includes compositions by Vincenzo Antonio Petrali (1830-1889), organist of Cremona Cathedral, and by Polibio Fumagalli (1830-1900), formerly a professor at the Milan Conservatory [1]. At the centre of the performance is Roberto Remondi (1850-1928), an organist and composer who taught organ at Turin's Liceo Musicale, later the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory, and who was organist of the cathedral basilica of Piazza Armerina: his Prelude and Fugue on a Pastoral Theme, Op. 105, and his Grand Chorus for organ are performed [1]. The evening closes with Saverio Mercadante's organ Fantasia "Omaggio a Bellini" ("Tribute to Bellini"), which combines themes from "Norma" and "La sonnambula" [1].

Charitable purpose

The evening aims to raise funds for the association Piccoli Passi to buy specialised equipment for the neonatal intensive care unit of the Sant'Anna University Hospital in Turin. Donations can be left with the hostesses at the church entrance [1].
