Chestnut Festival at Cascina Don Gerardo, Vinovo (2026)

The castagnata at the cascina Don Gerardo is an autumn event held in Vinovo, a municipality (comune) of the Metropolitan City of Turin. The event, which reached its 21st edition in 2026, raises funds for the activities of the San Bartolomeo parish [1].
Organisation
The event was organised by volunteers from various parish groups: the Centro Insieme Per, the Oratorio Insieme in Famiglia (parish youth centre) and Azione Cattolica, with the collaboration of the Croce Verde Vinovo Candiolo Piobesi [1].
Programme
The day on 25 October 2026 opened at 11.30 a.m. with pasta e fagioli (pasta and bean soup), available both to eat on site and to take away. From 2.30 p.m. roasted chestnuts were served, while at 3.30 p.m. a show by Mago Sidy (“Magician Sidy”) was held, with face-painting and entertainment for children. Hobbyist stalls were also present [1].

Thanks to its large spaces, the cascina Don Gerardo has hosted editions of the castagnata with high public turnout over the years [1].
