2 million euros from the Piedmont Region against gender violence (October 2026)

On 5 October 2026 the Piedmont Region allocated over 2 million euros against gender violence, with measures for jobs and housing for women victims and for the protection of minors who have witnessed domestic violence.[1][2]

The two measures made available by the Region are worth a combined 2,007,500 euros: 1,788,500 euros implement the national strategic plan against male violence against women, while a further 219,000 euros are earmarked for strengthening women's economic independence through five territorial networks led by anti-violence centres. [3]

Within the 1,788,500 euros of the national plan, 450,000 euros fund up to 15 job-reintegration projects worth 30,000 euros each, and a further 450,000 euros support women's housing independence, with a contribution that can cover up to eight months' rent plus the deposit, through Piedmont's 23 anti-violence centres and the eight social housing agencies of the provincial capitals. [3]

The same plan allocates, for the first time, 284,500 euros to protecting minors who are victims of witnessed violence, for up to five projects, and a further 604,000 euros to prevention, including school projects and initiatives for workplaces and local bodies. [3]
