2026 Night of Contemporary Arts at GAM and MAO

The Night of Contemporary Arts is an evening event organised on 31 October 2026 by the Fondazione Torino Musei, involving the GAM (Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art) and the MAO (Museum of Oriental Art) in Turin. For the occasion, the two museums stay open beyond their usual hours, giving visitors reduced-price access to the permanent collections and the temporary exhibitions under way [1].
Opening and hours
On Saturday 31 October the GAM and the MAO are open from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., with last admission at 10 p.m. [1].
Events at the GAM
At the GAM, reduced-price admission covers the "living deposit" collections and the recently opened exhibitions "Marisa Merz. La danza delle ore" and "Nell'oltretempo. Giuseppe Caccavale". The evening also coincides with the second-to-last day of the exhibitions "Un altro Novecento. Opere su carta. Vincenzo Agnetti – Oggi è un secolo" and "L'Intruso. Pesce Kete". From 6 p.m. the GAM's Bar Baglio hosts a Halloween Party with a DJ set and a tasting curated by Spiriti in Cantina, including wines and a gin producer with a Corcolei Blind Tasting [1].
Events at the MAO
At the MAO, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., reduced-price admission covers the "Made in China" collection in the new layout of the Chinese collection, the "Paesaggi da sogno" exhibition and the just-opened show "Song Dong. Soul Out". As part of the "Declinazioni contemporanee #4" project, from 6 p.m. visitors can attend the performance "Beijing Opera Yabi di Kaka", the first event in the public programme linked to the Song Dong exhibition, which combines Peking Opera with contemporary subcultures to depict today's cities and new generations [1].
Admission to the events is free and included in the collections ticket; booking is not required [1].
