Premiere of "Mezzi sogni d'Estate" at the Cineteatro Baretti

On 21 October 2026 the Cineteatro Baretti, at via Baretti 4 in Turin, opens its new season "Ekstasis" with the premiere of the show "Mezzi sogni d'Estate, ovvero: la crudelissima morte di Piramo e Tisbe". The show is freely inspired by William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and is performed by the company TeatriAlchemici/Dadadaun, founded in Palermo in 2005 and devoted to exploring new stage languages by working with performers with disabilities [1][2].

The show

"Mezzi sogni d'Estate" is the second chapter of the Trilogia della Luna (Moon Trilogy) and retells the story of Pyramus and Thisbe in an ironic, visionary style, weaving in echoes of Monty Python's comedy and the surrealism of the Marx Brothers [1]. The cast features eight performers: Ivan Dragotta, Alberto Bibis Esposito, Giuseppe Lucchese, Giorgia Mirelli, Simona Mirelli, Matteo Richiusa, Vincenzo Sicola and Isabella Terruso. Direction and dramaturgy are by Luigi Di Gangi and Ugo Giacomazzi [1].

The resident company

For the third consecutive year the Cineteatro Baretti, a theatre in the San Salvario district, hosts TeatriAlchemici/Dadadaun as its resident company, consolidating an artistic relationship begun in previous years [1][2].

Dates and information

Performances are scheduled for Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 October at 9pm, and Friday 23 October at 8pm [1].
