Mezzi sogni d'Estate

"Mezzi sogni d'Estate, ovvero: la crudelissima morte di Piramo e Tisbe" ("Half Summer Dreams, or: the Most Cruel Death of Pyramus and Thisbe") is a theatre production that premiered on 21 October 2026 at the Cineteatro Baretti, on via Baretti 4 in the San Salvario district of Turin. The production opened the theatre's new season, titled "Ekstasis", and was staged by the company TeatriAlchemici/Dadadaun, founded in Palermo in 2005, which for the third year running is the Baretti's resident company [1].

The production

Freely inspired by William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", the production is the second chapter of the so-called Trilogy of the Moon. At its centre is the story of Pyramus and Thisbe, reread with an ironic and visionary language, in which the stage becomes a space suspended between dream and reality. The staging blends references to Monty Python's comedy and the surrealism of the Marx Brothers, addressing themes such as desire, imagination and the meaning of making theatre [1].

The cast features eight performers with disabilities: Ivan Dragotta, Alberto Bibis Esposito, Giuseppe Lucchese, Giorgia Mirelli, Simona Mirelli, Matteo Richiusa, Vincenzo Sicola and Isabella Terruso. Direction and dramaturgy are by Luigi Di Gangi and Ugo Giacomazzi [1].

Dates and venue

Performances were held on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 October at 9pm, and on Friday 23 October at 8pm, at the Cineteatro Baretti [1].

The company and its residency at the Baretti

TeatriAlchemici/Dadadaun is a company founded in Palermo in 2005, engaged in exploring new theatrical languages through work with performers with disabilities. Its relationship with the Cineteatro Baretti, where it has been the resident company since 2024, has grown over the years through productions combining experimentation and theatrical research [1].
