Joint inspection by carabinieri and Gtt on Turin public transport (September 2026)
On the evening of Friday 18 September 2026, carabinieri from the Torino San Carlo company, together with the Gruppo Torinese Trasporti (Gtt), carried out a special ticket inspection operation on seven public transport vehicles — buses and trams — in the center of Turin, in the nightlife areas between piazza Madama Cristina, via XX Settembre, piazza Vittorio Veneto and via Po. Out of a total of 450 passengers checked, more than 100 fines were issued, about a quarter of the total, for lack of a valid ticket. The operation also aimed to combat petty crime and drug dealing.
