Irregularities in agro-pastoral subsidies in Alta Valle di Susa (September 2026)

The forestry carabinieri of the Oulx station, in cooperation with Arpea, the Piedmont Region and the Consorzio Forestale Alta Valle di Susa, establish in 2025 and 2026 irregularities in applications for public subsidies for agro-pastoral activities in Alta Valle di Susa, with fines and recovery of payments totalling over 100,000 euros.¹²³ In the Single Payment Applications, discrepancies are found, in some cases amounting to 100%, between the land actually eligible for grazing and that declared in order to obtain the subsidies, with fines and reductions in payments of 69,840.86 euros.¹²³ Further irregularities are found in the Rural Development measures, with the recovery of 28,990.22 euros in payments and 5,629.18 euros in multi-year fines; the businesses involved face deductions from payments over the following three years, while checks on other businesses in the sector reveal no irregularities.¹²³
