Extraordinary police checks in Borgo Aurora (September 2026)

On 21 September 2026 police launched extraordinary checks in Turin's Borgo Aurora neighbourhood. A similar operation had already been carried out in the area in August 2022, when in 72 hours 80 people were identified, sixty of them non-EU citizens and nineteen with police records, with administrative fines of 400 euros issued to businesses in the area. [3] In the first week of activity, 426 people were identified, one arrest was made, ten reports were filed and administrative fines of over 28,000 euros were issued.
