19th edition of Portici di Carta in Turin (10-11 October 2026)

On 10 and 11 October 2026 Turin hosts the nineteenth edition of «Portici di Carta», a project of the City of Turin and the Turin International Book Fair that transforms the arcades of the city centre, between piazza Castello and Porta Nuova, into a two-kilometre open-air bookshop, with around a hundred book-related events.1 The 2026 edition brings together 71 Turin bookshops, both independent and chain stores, 56 publishing houses and 46 exhibitors in the «Il libro ritrovato» section, dedicated to antique and out-of-print books, with a reading trail organised into sixteen thematic areas.1 This edition pays tribute to Nobel laureate Dario Fo, on the centenary of his birth and the tenth anniversary of his death, with a meeting between his son Jacopo Fo and performer Matthias Martelli in conversation with journalist and theatre director Sergio Ariotti; guests from the publishing houses La Nave di Teseo and Terre di Mezzo include Malaysian writer Tash Aw, singer-songwriter Ermal Meta and writer Claudia Durastanti.1 The event, explains Mayor Stefano Lo Russo, is enriched this year with events held together with the Legality Days and the City's Intercultural Centre, and will also be the occasion to announce the finalists of the Gianni Mura literary prize.1
