Turin's Cna celebrates 80 years of activity
On 19 September 1946, at via Bogino 8 in Turin, a furniture-maker, a mechanic and a photographer founded before notary Pietro Astore the Free Association "Artigianato di Torino e Provincia," forerunner of the Cna. Eighty years later, on 18 September 2026, the association celebrates the anniversary at the Sermig with a day dedicated to the role of craftsmanship and SMEs in the economy, to the contribution of young people and women and to the history of the Cna, with three talks and awards for its most loyal members; 46 representatives of member businesses take the stage, including the oldest, Eliografia Rossi of corso Marconi, now in its fourth generation. "We chose to dedicate a talk to the role of women too, to bring out their contribution to the economy and the business system," notes president Rosanna Ventrella Grimaldi. Secretary Filippo Provenzano describes the celebrations as "a travelling festival" that has already visited Susa, Castellamonte and Pinerolo, with further events planned until December: in Castellamonte, on 27 August, the Cna honoured craftsmen with more than 40 years of membership loyalty during the Ceramics Exhibition. During 2026, for its eightieth anniversary, Cna Torino was also among the signatories, at Palazzo Civico, of the protocol establishing the coordination board of Turin Unesco Creative City of Design, and organised with CNA Federmoda the eleventh Turin Fashion Week at Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana, dedicated to young designers of Generation Z and Generation Alpha.
