Legambiente Ecopolis, Turin - Urban Ecology, European Voluntary Service in To

legambiente.to.it was the site of the Associazione Legambiente Volontariato Ecopolis Torino: the first archived snapshot, from January 2002, presented petitions and initiatives on pollution in Turin, including a signature-collection campaign on Amiat's waste management, the monitoring of fine particulate matter, and cooperation with the Nkoni.org long-distance adoption project.1

A page from July 2012 noted that the association had, since 1998, been a sending and hosting body for the European Voluntary Service under the EU's "Youth in Action" programme, which allowed young people to take part in volunteering for up to 12 months; the home page from the same period, January 2012, reported on a hearing of the association before the standing council committee of the City of Turin on urban mobility and air quality.23

By February 2016 the address was no longer linked to the association: the archive shows a generic page, with no reference to Legambiente or Turin.4 The domain name legambiente.to.it is not currently registered in the .it registry.5

The site legambiente.to.it: from Ecopolis to the European Voluntary Service (2002-2014)

The Legambiente Ecopolis Torino site was online from January 2002, with petitions on topics such as pollution linked to Amiat, malaria, benzene, the monitoring of the Sangone river beaches, and the alarm over PM10 fine particulate matter, as well as cooperation with the Nkoni.org long-distance adoption project. In 2006 the site was organised by areas of activity: mobility, bicycles, the historic centre, urban green space, smog and social issues.

The site noted that, since 1998, the association had been a sending and hosting body for the European Voluntary Service under the "Youth in Action" programme, hosting volunteers from across Europe for periods of up to 12 months. In the last version recorded, from December 2014, the association reported having been summoned on 22 April before the City of Turin's 6th Standing Council Committee for a hearing on urban mobility and air quality.
